[Athen] NVDA and Calculus (Geraldine Mendiola via athen-list)

I'm not sure if this will help your situation, but we do the following.

We make sure that the equations are input properly in the MS Word Equation
Editor.

We then select the settings in NVDA to have it read math in MS Word docx.

To change settings, go to NVDA's Advanced settings and see what the value
is for:
"Use UI Automation to access Microsoft Word document controls" in NVDA
When "Always" is selected, you get MS Word Math but not MathType math
"Default (Where Suitable)" and "Only when necessary" causes NVDA to read
MathType math but not MS Word Math.
The internal workings of "Default" have changed with different versions of
NVDA, the user experience with the default value may differ depending on
the NVDA version.

These NVDA instructions were copied from a list serve, so trouble
shooting past that is beyond me. It has also been about a year since we
have had a student that uses a screen reader, so I'm not sure if this would
need an update.

Thanks,
Travis DeMontigny
