Here in The UW Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (<https://deohs.washington.edu/>DEOHS) we believe clean air, clean water, safe food, safe workplaces and sustainable communities are fundamental to improving population health. If you are interested in making an impact in your community we are looking for students interested in a flexible, customizable, field based, 15 month, 52 credit Master of Science in Environmental Health Sciences Applied at the University of Washington in Seattle to join the Autumn 2025 cohort.

About the degree:

This degree is an accelerated, 15-month, 52-credit field based program for students who plan to pursue careers in private industry or federal, state or local government agencies. Students can pick classes in a single focus areas to dig deep or combine multiple areas of study. We're looking for students who are interested in everything from investigating the health impacts of climate change and air pollution to preventing on-the-job injuries and illnesses, especially in the most vulnerable populations.


Career Outcomes:

Our department is one of the few at the University of Washington with our own career counselor dedicated to supporting students in DEOHS. With more than 1,500 graduates over the past 75 years, DEOHS is building a highly skilled workforce of environmental public health and occupational health and safety professionals and researchers. Our graduates work at the local, national and global levels as leaders in government, academia and the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Graduates combine their scientific expertise and passion for improving health to create sustainable communities where everyone has access to clean air, clean water, safe food and safe workplaces. DEOHS graduates are sought after by major employers and earn highly competitive salaries.
