COM 440 Open to Non-Majors

Good morning!

COM 440: Mass Media Law is now available to non-majors in UWS. Please see below regarding a course description and other scheduling information. Its joint section of POL S 461 is still restricted to POL S majors.

COM 440 Mass Media Law (5) SSc
Survey of laws and regulations that affect the print and broadcast media. Includes material on First Amendment, libel, invasion of privacy, freedom of information, copyright, obscenity, advertising and broadcast regulation, and matters relating to press coverage of the judicial system. Offered: jointly with POL S 461.

This course does not serve as the second prerequisite to the COM major. Students must register for one of the available corresponding quiz sections found on MyPlan.
