Virtual Coffee with a Board Member Meeting April 29!

Attention GIS Students,

Join Christina Chelf (GIS Manager, City of Tacoma) and Micah Gelber (EM GIS Specialist, Navy Region Northwest) for our first Coffee with a Board Member Meeting! This is the first of many exciting activities offered as part of WAGISA's 2024-2025 Young Professionals Initiative which intends to offer professional development opportunities to burgeoning GIS professionals!

About the Young Professionals Initiative

Who is a Young Professional?
A young professional is any one of any age with less than 5 years of professional GIS experience.

What are the goals of this initiative?

  *   Connect young professionals with jobs and resources to find jobs
  *   Bring more professionals with less than 5 years of GIS experience into volunteer and board positions over the next 3 years
  *   Have Fun!
What activities are happening as part of this initiative?

  *   Virtual Coffee with Board Members - Informal drop in sessions for people to join virtually to ask questions, talk about WAGISA, career development, questions about the field, etc.
  *   Lunch and Learn Job Hunt Series - Quarterly focused discussion focused on various topics. Topics might be resumes, interviewing, LinkedIn Tips, Networking or Personal Branding.
  *   Young Professional Tract at Conference - This will likely be some combination of panel discussions and targeted workshops.
  *   End of Year in Person Social - Night of networking at some venue in the Puget Sound.
