Hi Everyone!

In celebration of Geography Awareness Week 2024 (November 18-22) and GIS Day (November 20), the Department of Geography at UW Seattle and GeoDat: Society for Geo-Data Science are excited to announce the second annual GeoAI Prompt Contest<https://geography.washington.edu/news/2024/10/22/geoai-prompt-contest-2024>! This contest aims to use Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to inspire deep thought and creative expression about critical geographical issues facing humanity and the planet such as climate change, food security, social and economic inequality, and globalization. By leveraging the power of generative AI, we hope to not only illustrate these pressing issues but also foster an awareness of the challenges and opportunities that GeoAI presents to society.

This contest is open to all graduate students, undergraduate students and high schoolers from anywhere in the U.S. To participate, use any generative AI platform, such as ChatGPT or Gemini, to create an image that illustrates one of the major geographical challenges facing humanity and the planet, such as climate change, food security, social and economic inequality, or globalization.
