Please join us for our last Geography Colloquium of Fall 2024 on Friday, October 25, at 3:30 in Smith 304.

Dr. Kavita Dattani (GWSS University of Washington) will present her talk "Gender and Platform work: Beyond Techno-solutionism" (poster attached)
Abstract:
In this colloquium, Professor Kavita Dattani will be
discussing the report she recently co-authored as
part of the Fairwork project at the Oxford Internet
Institute, University of Oxford. Fairwork's research
is conducted across 38 countries and over 190
digital platforms. The report draws on the past four
years of findings from the project to highlight the
under-discussed gendered experiences of platform
work.
