[GEOG MAJORS] Free Them All Committee

Hello, my name is Francesca and I am writing to you today on behalf of my UW club, Immigrant Rights Are Human Rights: Students for La Resistencia, and our Free Them All Committee. Our group’s main goal is to support the efforts of La Resistencia, a grassroots organization working to end the detention of immigrants and stop deportations. Their members support and engage with people detained at the Northwest Detention Center (NWDC) in Tacoma, Washington who are living in inhumane conditions and are being denied access to necessary medical treatment.


Our Free Them All Committee in particular is focused on raising awareness of the conditions in the NWDC and sharing the stories of the people in detention. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible so that the petitions for people in detention can receive more attention, and consequently be sent to the Washington legislature or ICE as an attempt to push for improved living conditions and immigrants’ release.


We have attached a link to our linktree where you can access all the petitions (at the bottom of the list) and we hope you sign them in solidarity with the immigrants in detention!
