Hi team, here is a somewhat lengthy email with resources for you.
All UDSM leadership should feel comfortable with both administration and counseling community members on naloxone. We are organizing an in-person training for late summer/fall but in the meantime see the below resources. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns!
Scope of the problem in King County:
Public Health Seattle-King County in partnership with the Medical Examiner and Emergency Medical Services collects data regarding overdose related events. You can review the following dashboard to see this data, there is a lot to process but informative trends.
Overdose data dashboards - King County, Washington<https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/dph/health-safety/safety-injury-prevention/overdose-prevention-response/data-dashboards/>
UW Service Learning - Introduction to Naloxone (~5 minutes)
A few slides with an introduction to naloxone and some helpful tips to talking with community members. A link to some videos is also included in the presentation, but the most relevant video is included below.
Naloxone Final 5_11_23 (washington.edu)<https://depts.washington.edu/somserve/SOM/naloxone/story.html>
WA DOH - Administering Naloxone (~6 minutes)
Video from the Department of Health that walks you through how to administer naloxone and perform rescue breathing, also attached is a helpful PDF. Some of you may be wondering when to proceed with an opioid overdose response (naloxone and rescue breathing) versus basic life support (CPR). This will depend on your index of suspicion for opioid overdose and I'm happy to discuss this with you further.

Never Use Alone Hotline
Risk of overdose and overdose related death is closely tied to support system. Here is a hotline for people to never use alone.
