We are in high need of a few medical students to participate in the event. I have attached the email that was sent to all medical students that contains more information about CHPA and the event below. If you are interested, please fill out this form https://forms.office.com/r/sfBGNkeA0b . Let me know if you have any questions! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello Medical Students, My name is Autumn, and I am the Program Assistant at the UWSOD. We run a program called the Community Health Professions Academy (CHPA). CHPA was created to help inspire youth, grades 9-12th , from BIPOC communities to pursue careers in the health sciences. This program provides hands-on activities and case studies within dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and public health. Medicine day is in the morning on *March 16, 2024, from 9:45 to 11:30AM, *however we are asking volunteers to be there *about 20 minutes earlier to set up*. >From 9:45-10:45am, we have a suturing activity scheduled. Right after, we have a speaker panel. Panelists will rotate around tables and answer any questions scholars may have about your pathway, or what it is like pursing a medical degree. We would like to ask you all if there are 5-6 medical student volunteers ( preferably 1st generation students, from a BIPOC community, and/or had a non-traditional path to getting into medicine but does not have to be!) who would like to run the hands-on activity, be on the speaker panel, or both. We have all the supplies needed for suturing; we just need volunteers. I have attached the agenda for 3/16/24 at the bottom of this email. There are quite a few CHPA students who are interested in medicine, and we believe this will be a great opportunity for you all to share your experiences with them. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the following form: https://forms.office.com/r/sfBGNkeA0b We hope to work with you. If you have any questions for me, please let me know.
