The meeting will be on the UW Seattle campus, and we will be reserving a location soon! The UDSM is leadership is meeting tonight to discuss this and the rest of the future events for the quarter. I think 15 - 30 minutes if perfect, since we might plan something for that meeting as well. We usually have a presentation from our education chairs or hygiene kits assembly during our meetings, so that can fill up the rest of the time. I will get back to you regarding the final location and all details for the event soon. Please let me know if you have any questions! We can keep our presentation to as short as 15 minutes, especially if there are other agenda items to discuss. Of course, depending on how many questions people have we could probably tack on an additional 10 ? 15 mins to that. We don?t anticipate taking a full hour, but we?re happy to stay for the full length of the meeting in case folks have some questions afterwards or want to pick up some volunteer flyers from us. The time of the meeting works just fine for us, just keep us posted if the time does change. Where will the in-person meeting take place? In response to your questions: our meetings typically last between 1 to 1.5 hours, which provides ample time for introductions, a presentation, and a Q&A session. If you have other agenda items in mind, please feel free to share! We usually start our meetings at 7:30 PM, but we can adjust the time to one that works better for you. Recently, we've had around 30-40 attendees on Zoom and about 25 in person. Looking forward to your thoughts! We?re happy to participate. Do you know what time the meeting will be? If not, we?ll set a placeholder for now and can check back in with you a couple weeks beforehand. We?re very much looking forward to attending. We just have some general questions for now. How much time will we have to present at the meeting? How many attendees do you anticipate (approx. number is okay too)? We?ll likely bring some of our volunteer materials and want to be sure we have enough. Learn why this is important Hello Franny, Thank you so much for your interest! I will discuss the details of the event with the rest of the board to decide the best day for this meeting, but we can definitely do something in November and December as you said. I can tell you the dates would probably be between Monday, November 25th and December 9th (that one is tentative since it's during finals week). Also, is there anything you need from us to prepare for the event? My co-events chair, Kaelan, and I are happy to discuss any details with you over zoom, over the phone, or by email. I look forward to working with you to advertise this great opportunity to UW undergraduate students! This sounds like a great opportunity to connect with UDSM and we appreciate the invitation. The next clinic is scheduled for April 24 ? 27, 2025 and we open volunteer registration on January 6. It would be great if we could come to a meeting in November or December right before we open registration. Let us know if you have those dates available and we?ll add one to the calendar. High dose iodine supplements were found at a recent outreach (shout out to Katy for recognizing the dangers!) and there was also another bottle found in the supply closet. These have now been discarded, but it's possible that they may exist at other outreach sites. High doses of iodine can be dangerous if taken improperly, as they can lead to both hyper and hypothyroidism. Long term high dose iodine supplementation has been associated with thyroid autoimmune disease and thyroid cancer risk as well. (These risks do not apply to low dose iodine supplementation such as iodized salt) The ask - please double check any on-site supply stores for iodine supplements and let me know if found. A consideration - if we receive supplement or medication donations, please send me a message to verify the need/safety prior to adding to our central supply. Thanks!
