I just wanted to clear this by y'all, but we have a member of the Seattle King County Coalition on Homelessness who is really interested in sharing a little bit about the voter registration campaign happening these next couple of weeks. She also wanted to share a little bit about advocacy for budget proposals at the Seattle city level for healthcare programs like these. The advocacy piece is time sensitive as they are passing the budget in the middle of November. Is this something that we would be willing to devote time to? I told her the meeting isn't very long, but she said she can keep it brief as she wants to encourage undergrads who are interested in issues pertaining to homelessness to get involved in other areas of this effort in addition to medicine. Very open to input - just a suggestion! Would love to hear your thoughts. The budget proposal piece is something that can be briefly talk about with the whole team. If there are specific actions we should take to help get it passed, then it should be further discussed with the faculty/fundraising leads/codirectors, so we can set up a more focused/targeted meeting to address it. Also, keep in mind that tomorrow's meeting is mostly grad students, with some undergrads present. If you want to involve more undergrads, then we can set up another meeting to meet that vision. You should have received email invite, but please let me know if not. * We are still settling a date for the next training with REACH, Dora sent out a poll. Let myself and Anjulie know when a date is settled and we can start to coordinate the details. 2. Mobile Health Van @ U District Food Bank. Received ok from school leadership to start outreach. We will need to sort out some liability details and make an addendum to the Service Learning contract, put together an MOU, but it can happen afterwards and I will enlist Ellen Tan's help with this. 3. Budget and spending. Ellen and I are discussing how best to provide feedback to student leadership regarding spending trends. If you have suggestions, please let me know. 4. New preceptor Sumi Lavin, retired Ob/Gyn, current volunteer EMT in Twisp. She plans to shadow soon and is very excited to start working with you all.
