<p style="margin: 0;">For the last two PIT counts (2022, 2024), as well as the upcoming one in 2026, KCRHA has received approval from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to use a methodology called Respondent Driven Sampling (RDS). This method produces a more accurate count.</p>
<p style="margin: 0;"><br></p>
<p style="margin: 0;">Using the RDS methodology requires safe and accessible physical locations where individuals and families who are experiencing unsheltered homelessness can complete a survey on their experiences. There are incentives for unsheltered community members who participate, as well as for recruiting others in their network to visit and complete the survey. </p>
