Good Morning,

My name is Stephanie Levin, and I am a doctoral candidate in the educational leadership program at Rowan University. I am in the process of conducting my dissertation study on how women graduate students with invisible disabilities potentially endure ableist perceptions of their competence within male-dominated academic fields. I was hoping that you could please share my listserv message within your institutional listservs so that I may recruit students. Please see message below:

Are you interested in volunteering to participate in a research study about how women graduate students with invisible disabilities encounter and navigate ableist perceptions of their competence within male-dominated academic fields? Are you 18-60 years old, identify as a woman, a registered graduate student who is currently enrolled in a male-dominated academic field, and have a self-identified invisible disability? Potential benefits of this research study include acquiring a profound comprehension of the phenomenon of competence that is being investigated. As a volunteer participant, you will participate in an interview. You will also participate in either a drawing exercise or an audio diary reflection. The interview and drawing exercise will take one hour and twenty minutes to complete. If you decide to participate in the interview and audio diary reflection exercise, then these activities will take one hour and ten to fifteen minutes to complete. The drawing exercise or the audio diary reflection and their directions will be provided to you in a separate email upon agreeing to participate in this study. This study will take place at Rowan University via Webex. Contact Dr. Ane Turner Johnson at johnsona at rowan.edu<mailto:johnsona at rowan.edu> and Stephanie Levin at levins at rowan.edu<mailto:levins at rowan.edu> about this research study. This study has been approved by Rowan University's IRB (Study # PRO-2025-54.)

Thank you so much!

My Best,
Stephanie
