The Jr. Developer Program has been active at Amazon since 2005, offering a unique extension to traditional short-term summer internship opportunities. We partner with universities local to Amazon corporate sites to provide year-round, multi-year internship opportunities for students in their first, second, or third year of college. Immediately upon hire, our Jrs. work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer until they've completed their education (with an average tenure of 2.25 years). Paired 1:1 with a Mentor, a Jrs. growth and development is supported by successful full-time Amazonians and regular performance evaluations. A Jrs. extended tenure allows them to become embedded in their team and deliver tangible results to real Amazon customers.

Jr. Applied Scientist

  *   This role is for students who are currently pursuing a masters in computer science, statistics, or a related STEM field.
  *   Candidates’ graduation dates should fall between May 2026 and June 2027.

The Senior Data Coordinator works within a multidisciplinary team that supports oncology clinical trials conducted at the Fred Hutch/University of Washington/Seattle Children's Cancer Consortium. The position is responsible for collecting and abstracting clinical data from medical records and research charts, ensuring data quality and timeliness. The team supports a large and diverse portfolio of clinical trials, and this position will work in close collaboration with faculty, providers, and research staff across multiple disease areas. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Clinical Trials Coordination you will be part of the Breast Oncology, Genitourinary Medical Oncology, GI, or other specialized Oncology clinical research teams.

Description

This position’s responsibilities include gathering, abstracting, and coding complex clinical information from various sources, such as medical and research records, for research studies. It involves accurately entering this data into both electronic and paper-based study-specific systems, while efficiently resolving data queries with minimal errors. The role also includes maintaining spreadsheets and databases, coordinating with clinic staff and research teams to schedule subject appointments, and assisting in the development of study-specific data acquisition forms. Additionally, the position requires collaborating with research coordinators and sponsor representatives to review and correct case report forms.

Requirements

  *   BA/BS, RRA, ART, or two year degree in the medical field.
  *   Three years of experience in medical records, cancer registry, or related field.

Description

The Electrical Engineer III plays a pivotal role in enhancing NanoString’s instruments and consumables by addressing hardware issues through engineering and process improvements. This position involves designing critical components and subsystems to boost performance and reliability, assessing and mitigating risks, and creating engineering change orders with supporting documentation. The engineer will perform verification activities, root cause investigations, and support end-of-life product cycles, including repair and refurbishment. A key aspect of the role is improving manufacturing and quality processes, developing quality control tests, and collaborating closely with teams across Quality, R&D, Software, and Field Service to ensure continuous product improvement and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  *   4+ years of experience working in product development, sustaining, or manufacturing engineering, preferably in the medical device industry
  *   B.S. and/or M.S. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field
  *   A practical aptitude for hands-on work with a variety of the following systems: electromechanical, optics, fluidic, and software
  *   General familiarity with engineering principles in the following areas: instrument control and automation, optics and imaging, motion control, and electromechanical systems
  *   Experience with ECAD software (preferably Altium or equivalent) and Product Data Management (PDM)
  *   Desired: experience with electrical test equipment, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, microcontrollers (ARM), circuit board design and manufacture, etc.
