Registration for WIN 2025 is coming up very soon! With just a few days before Registration Period I begins for WIN 2025<https://www.washington.edu/students/reg/2425cal.html#Q5>, please note the following to help you plan for registration:

  1.  WIN 2025 GEOG courses are available to view in MyPlan<http://myplan.uw.edu> and on the Department of Geography website<https://geography.washington.edu/courses/2025/winter/all>.
  2.  Please always review all section notes available on the course details page in MyPlan. Sometimes that means you must click the link for the SLN in order to find all of the section notes. These include important information about the schedule, registration restrictions, prerequisites, and more!
  3.  Think ahead about your planned SPR 2025 classes [GEOG 469, for example], to be sure you can satisfy all prerequisites by the end of WIN 2025.
  4.  Please visit our Geography Advising webpage<https://geography.washington.edu/advising> if you'd like to make an appointment to plan your winter quarter schedule. You are welcome to visit virtual Drop-In Advising<https://geography.washington.edu/advising> for quick questions & concerns on Wednesdays, 10:00-12:00, via Zoom. We've also created a Degree Planning guide<https://geography.washington.edu/degree-planning> to help you plan courses to complete your geography major.
  5.  New this year: Students declared in the geography major data science option<https://geography.washington.edu/ba-geography-data-science-option> can now choose Q SCI 482 Statistical Inference in Applied Research I<https://myplan.uw.edu/course/#/courses/Q%20SCI%20482> to count for the machine learning requirement. This is not shown in the degree audit so you must contact the Geography Advising Office at geogadv at uw.edu<mailto:geogadv at uw.edu> after registration in order for us to make this count toward your degree.

Critical: Required Husky Prevention & Response (Title IX) Student Course

Husky Prevention & Response<https://we.discover.uw.edu/NTI3LUFIUi0yNjUAAAGWXgUAXUgBx_9rzFRkvuWgxjITlujuWXaXVR_ez30ZPWaVKmbwHSKqlzVJGUeJWEJWry9u6rg=> is a course about preventing and responding to sex- and gender-based violence and harassment. New and returning (an absence of one quarter or more) freshman, transfer, graduate and professional matriculated students are required to complete the 60- to 90-minute online student course.

Students who do not complete the course will be blocked from registering for their second quarter. Students Expecting to Graduate Next Quarter
*    Be sure to contact your adviser to submit your graduation application by the application deadline, which is the third Friday of each quarter.
*    Your diploma name does not have to match your UW student record name. Instead, you can have your diploma issued in the name of your choice by entering your information into the Diploma Name and Address form<https://we.discover.uw.edu/NTI3LUFIUi0yNjUAAAGWXgUAXCHNkkuVvqs5K3_gJYejuL2Ao-IpRWWApr1tfVpnpuwfKNmfSFOo75CGvr8aZDEcue4=>. This is also where you will put the address where you would like your diploma mailed.
*    Complete and submit this form now to ensure that your paper diploma will reach the best permanent address after you graduate. If you have not entered information in the form when we order your diploma, the information from your student record will be used to issue and mail your diploma.
